85% chance hearing aid can be fixed. So that's good news. Means poor Mom won't have to shell out $1500 or more for a new one (I'm sooooooo broke) I'm like literally half-deaf without it. Hell I should really have two but I didn't want my parents to go broke because of it. So I settled for one and, for me, it was more than enough.

God I miss being actually able to hear stuff. Chances are good that I'll have it back by this coming Friday.

While I'm waiting I'm re-reading "The Wicked Years" series by Gregory Maguire I'm slightly less than 200 pages into "Son of a Witch" (IMO it's a lot better than most people give it credit for) and I never finished reading A Lion Among Me SO I have to tackle that as well if I want "Out of Oz" to make sense. And I REALLY want it to make sense a few excerpts I've read of it. OoO (hah) looks like a real humdinger of a book and the last one in a series (unless GM changes his mind of course).

Still working on that Black Swan fic. I do adore Nina and I want to give her a happy ending that I feel she deserves. I've not yet seen a fic written that tackles the idea I have in mind (basically what if all of the movie was just a dream of Nina's) Yep that simple and yet I've never personally seen a single fic summary that gives away the most obvious fic idea (in my mind at least). SO I'm working on a fic, here and there, about my idea. It's extremely slow going but I have plenty of time to work on it.

No really, that movie is kick ass awesome!

Speaking of movies I saw Bridesmaids last night. Ugh it was so painful to watch! Literally the very best thing about the movie was the police officer and Melissa McCarthy aka Megan (I hope I spelled that name right) You know of Mike and Molly (OMG one of the cutest shows EVER! Suck on that Marie Claire magazine! Most especially the EiC and Maura Kelly)

I have no idea why Bridesmaids was lauded so. It mostly sucked. Oh I admit it got way better nearer to the end (OMG Wilson Phillips, Carnie is still my favorite of the trio btw).

ETA: BTW I'm loving these new series' "Grimm" and "Once Upon A Time" I'm a sucker for modern fairy tales. I'm also a huge fan of "The 10th Kingdom" from years ago. Pity it never got a sequel. I fear for Grimm and OUAT though. They're canceling show left , right and backwards these days

If I had my say and the major income, I'd love to have two new channels One dedicated to Fairy Tale stuff (movies TV Series and the like , am I the only one who remembers "The Charmings" from years and years ago?_ And one dedicated to Science Fiction (SyFy doesn't count...not anymore) the way the SciFi used to. Hell I'd love one dedicated to Stargate fans/ All three series all the movies and such 24/7 Stargate. I could SO live with that .

Daniel Jackson 24/7 Woohoo!

No reason

For no reason at all today I got to be thinking about names (no reason really the idea just popped into my head) And I got to thinking what names I like (who knows what for, maybe character names in the future) And I've really taken a liking to these.

-Astrid (I blame "Doctor Who" and "How to Train Your Dragon" for this one but it's actually very pretty)
-Talulah
-Bijou (as luck would have it's a french version of my middle namel)
-Elphaba (What can I say ever since I started reading the Wicked books I've developed a huge fondness for this name)
-Mary (from none other than Mary Bennet)
-Augusta
-Rose
-Iris
-Myrtle (I love most flower/plant names, heh)

there's actually quite a few more I adore but these are actually the most awesome of them all (and all for girls it appears)
