So any Shank-a-holics out there (hee!) see "Red Riding Hood" now that it's out on DVD? I did and I just wish there had been more "Adrien" (Michael's character) screen time.

So I was at Walmart last week to pick up some hearing aid batteries (because I feel totally lopsided whenever my batteries die on me) and while I was there I checked on the price of the RRH DVD. I didn't have enough for both the batteries and the DVD so I just picked up the batteries and left, deciding to pick up the DVD the next day (Friday).

So when I returned the next day money in hand to buy my copy of the long-awaited (for me at least) DVD. But it wasn't there all they had was the stupid combo pack. Damnit I didn't want THAT. I don't even have a BluRay player (or want). (even though I have bought a few bluray combos just because I did want a certain movie on digital copy).

I looked and looked and it wasn't there. It had been there the day before! So in a little huff I made my was to the check out counter to ask if they had any more. SO after the check out girl fidget with her scanner with numbery buttons. She said they had sold out. SOLD OUT! WTF! I didn't pitch a fit but I desperately wanted to. Now I had to go to K-Mart and get it. Kmart who overprices new releases from Day One. I was PISSED that I had to pay 6 to 7 dollars more than what Walmart had been selling it for!

*sighs* I hated that I had to do that but in the end all was happy. and I get to was the sweetly guilty pleasure (though why should it be? It's a damn decent movie. Hehe I love Hammy Gary Oldman.)

You were warned! Identity of the Wolf and more ahead! Also Michael Shanks is really really hot on the silver screen!

Spoilers ahead! )

I've probably revealed a little too much already but go see it for yourself. Don't let the critics or the naysayers online judge it for you. If you want to see this reason for one reason or another. Go. You may just find yourself pleasantly surprised and actually enjoy yourself . Also the soundtrack is worth a listen. It's different but it's gorgeous. especially the Fever Ray tracks.

Also I want a red cloak like Valerie's now. But I'll settle for a red hoodie instead.

Forgive the "screaming" ahead of time.

If I see one more person whining about how the Red Riding Hood movie adaption novel doesn't have an ending I'm going to scream (and in real life. I will scream myself bloody hoarse!)! Guess what Ladies (and or Gents)... YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK IN THE FIRST PLACE! Better yet you could've (if you bought the book in person) glanced over the book properly while in the store (especially if you were curious as to who the wolf is) or flipped/looked through the pages a couple of times (to see if the book was any good or not. Meaning to see if the author's prose was any good or not.) Like any sensible reader.

But no they're all whining about having to go to the book site to download the bonus/ending chapter. Whining, I may add they they have to download the FREE FINAL CHAPTER. God forbid they be inconvenienced by a few days. Argh!

*sighs*
God I needed to do that something awful.

Anyway...Who is going to see the movie because of our lovely Mr. Shanks?! I am! Oh sure I wasn't sure if I'd see the movie or not to begin with but when I learned Michael was going to be in it as Adrien Lazar, the father of one of Valerie's (RRH) two love interests. I knew I would not miss seeing that lovely mans face on the big screen. NEVER.
