Vampires, Not so scary anymore

What ever happened to vampires being scary? I remember watching Dracula as a child and being frightened. My mother used to tell me to hold my neck so that the vampires wouldn’t drain my blood.

Sure, I’m older now, and the darkness isn’t so plagued with baddies; but is it just me or have modern vampires become… pussies?

Honey, stop reading now; I’m about the slam one of your favorite movies.


I think the writer for stories such as Twilight, and those like it, should be banned from making “vampire” movies. Or how about this: Give these pussified creatures a new name. Pixies?

I want bad ass vampires again. I want body parts slinging this way and that. I want him to have 72 sexy wives… wait… I just described Bin Laden. Think about it: He kills people for pleasure, he has many wives, an army of men who would die for him, and he’s dead. lol Sorry, back to things that matter.

Vampires are sexually charged, ravenous, bloodthirsty beasts who’s very existence reigns supreme in comparison to our puny mortality. Where, I say, where are these vampires hiding? It’s not in Hollywood these days, I’ll tell you that.

Hungry for some vampire movies, that don’t suck, while you wait for Hollywood to get their shit together? Here’s a list, in no particular order, of vampire movies that I’ve enjoyed over the years:

- Bram Stoker’s Dracula
-The Lost Boys
-Queen of the Damned
- Shadow of the Vampire
-Horror of Dracula
- Interview with the Vampire
- Let the Right One In
-Dracula
-Nosferatu

Add others you feel are deserving of the title, “Scary Vampire Movie.”

Well that was totally unexpected...

But personally I was looking to buy a new copy anyway (eventually).

In case you are clueless about to what I am speaking of (and I'm pretty sure you don't but that's okay) So I was initially going to buy either the New Three Musketeers movie on DVD or battle Royale but just almost as soon as I had 3M in my basket I spotted something too irresistible to not buy because who knows when Walmart may yank it off the shelves.

Ir was, however unlikely that would happen but I was not willing on taking chances. I'm referring to the "Vampires collection" 4 Film Favorites DVD set. Yes Queen of the damned bundles with 3 other Warner Brothers Vampire movies all for $10.

That's $2.50 a movie!

the other 3 movies? Well i had seen one of them ages ago but I couldn't get into at the time but Now I'm willing to.


Okay I'll stop beiting around the bush.

The other 3 movies are

-The Lost Boys
-The Lost Boys: The Tribe
-The Lost Boys: The Thirst

yeah I figures what the hey It'll give me something to watch this weekend when I'm not watching Titanic (The movie), Titanic (The mini-series) or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011). The only thing better I think would be if Lestat (Stuart) made a "sibling" for Jesse . Meaning Lisbeth as a vampire. Oh man how fraking awesome would that be?



*is silently willing the TGWTDT-verse and the QotD-verse to somehow exist in the same 'verse!*

Oh dear I think that's a bit too much Diet Dr. Enuf I've had to drink!

You know I was just thinking of doing for the hell of it? Listing all the DVD of Vampire movies (and TV shows , or episodes if the show itself is not vampire based) that I own. Oh geez, I wonder if I can do it all in one night??


-Moonlight (TV)
-Interview with the vampire
-Queen of the Damned (2 copies, don't ask :p)
-Bram Stoker's Dracula
-Shadow of the Vampire
-(I'm not counting the twilight series although I do have all the movies so far)
-Let Me In
-Ultraviolet (starring Milla Jovovich. I can't immediately find it though)
-Let the Right One In
-The Lost Boys trilogy (see previous entry)
-van Helsing
-Blade (I know I have it around here somewhere)
-Underworld (the first 3 movies, I haven't seen #4 yet)
-Dracula 2000
-Night Stalker (2005, TV) (the "Timeless" episode I think it was)
-True Blood (The First 3 season- I think, but I've only gotten halfway through Season 3 before giving up a while ago. DVD is the only way I can watch it since I don't have HBO)
