Film recs....of a sort
Jul. 21st, 2010 02:55 pmSeeing as my birthday is getting nearer and nearer all the time...I've decided to bequeath to you all (heh) a list of my most favorite yet misunderstood and/or underrated movies. A few of them even star the lovely Milla Jovovich!
-Ultraviolet (Not your most traditional vampire movie but I like it)
-Marie Antoinette
-Tank Girl (2 reasons on why I love this movie so: Naomi Watts as Jet Girl! and The Soundtrack! And Booga! And Kesslee and....wait there's gonna be way more than 2 reasons. My bad!)
-The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (this one makes me bawl like a baby every time)
-The Fifth Element
-Penelope (She gets a happily ever after but not in the traditional fairy tale way. And lookie there, there's Bingley from Pride and Prejudice 2005)
-Becoming Jane (not historically accurate but lovely nevertheless. Not to mention there's the utterly amazing James McAvoy again ((as he's in Penelope too)) )
-Stardust (It didn't get as much attention as it should have or even a decent marketing campaign. Hell we US fans didn't even get a decent DVD release! I would have killed for a commentary!)
-Ever After (Adding this if only for the sole reason is that it got a crappy DVD with only it's trailer as a special feature, although not many movies have both wide and full screen versions. Lovely movie despite that.)
-The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement (I don't care if Meg Cabot, the writer of the book series, hates the movie. I love it and though it was near perfect. Not if only there was a Princess Diaries 3 with Nicholas and Mia "officially" together.)
-Queen of the Damned ( A lot of VC and IwtV give this movie a lot of grief for no good reason. Just think of it as an Alternate Universe, you geeks!!)
I think I'll stop there if I keep on going I may be at this for hours heh.
