forgottenbennet: (Mary Bennet -Talulah Riley)
I just randomly came up with this and decided to share places that I've been over the years, lets see how many states I've actually visited hmm...Keep in mind I live in NorthEast Tennessee

Huntsville, Alabama - Me and my 5th grade class visited the place where they have space camp there.
Atlanta, Georgia - I went there once to look for a wedding gown with my cousin Lisa, and the other time was the Senior Class trip to 6 Flags over Georgia.

Colonial Beach, Virgina - Where my Uncle Bobby once lived, but now he lives very close by.

Maryland - We went there by boat from Colonial Beach to a seafood restaurant and then straight back afterwards.

Kentucky - Me and my parents were just riding around Morristown and I mentioned I'd mention I'd never been to Kentucky before (he brought the subject up of Kentucky for some reason) and so we ended up there at some small little flea market I was bored to tears but I did pick up this hot pink and black lace-trimmed New Kids on the Block pillow (hey it was unofficial but I liked it) which I kept for years. I have no idea what I did with it.

Asheville, North Carolina - to visit the Biltmore Estate ...you know that house where they filmed the Richie Rich movie and parts of Hannibal; you know where they filmed the Gary Oldman scenes?! Also I've heard The Last of the Mohicans was filmed on the grounds there (or pieces of it at least). We were there when they were filming but we didn't see any film crews.

Nashville, Tennessee - While not a separate state, it is far enough away from where I live so I'm listing it. We went there not too long after my High School graduation (a frakking 16 years ago man!). At the time two of my cousins lived there, Ricky and Mike. One is in the recording industry (Ricky, a producer I think) and the other was either there for college or something I don't remember. Anyone Ricky let me, my parents and his parents listen to something they just finished recording not too long before our visit (Dude! It was Indian Outlaw by Tim McGraw! Before he was really famous!) We also went to the Country Music hall of fame. That was pretty cool. I clearly remember seeing the shredded jeans Alan Jackson wore during his Chattahoochee video (*drool* as he was waterskiing) and I think the headboard that was used in a Highway 101 video (Ah I loved that womans voice, Paulette Carlson) I think it may have been "The Bed You Made for Me" but I've never seen that video so I'm not sure. We also went to the Johnny Cash museum but I wasn't interested at the time (what was I thinking!) so I stayed at the front until they were done. I had wanted to stop at the Hard Rock Cafe to look around but there was such a long line we didn't do it.I do remember at one point though asking to see the Parthenon, sadly for me we just drove by and didn't stop to go look at it. I loved seeing it knowing more than likely that would be the closest I would ever to to Athens and seeing the real thing. recently though I was gobbsmacked to see it play a plot point in the Percy Jackson movie when I seen it last night. You honestly couldn't have wiped the smile off my face the whole time it was in the movie Read more... ) And The real statue at the Parthenon? Looks like nothing like the one in the movie.

Lastly but not leastly my favorite place I've ever been in my life...

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Been there I think 3 times in my life, twice during high school summer breaks (3 days each time then) and then more recently late July 2008 we spent Most of a Friday, all of Saturday and Sunday and left Monday morning. I've never had more fun in my life, my only two regrets were that #1 we didn't spend any more time than we actually did on the beach itself. #2 That didn't stay all that close to the beach as I had hoped. I would have been exhausted by the time I got to the beach had I walked there. The waves themselves when we did spend time there were hard and rough , you see there has been very rough winds earlier that week and there was a possibility it could have become a hurricane, but fortunately it didn't but it made the water very hard to stand up in. We also shopped, oh BOY did we SHOP I'd never done so much shopping in my life! Thank god I'd been saving for months for our trip. That trip is where I bough my very first pair of Cleo-style Crocs (hey they maybe ugly but they're comfy and love em) and had my very first taste of Ben & Jerry ice cream. It was so hot that day we had to sit down and rest and mom suggested ice cream. Nothing else significant enough happened to mention here but I loved every minute of it, even the trip there (the trip back was bittersweet as I didn't want to leave and I spent most of the trip back moping because I know once I got back I had to go to work in a matter of hours. Best souvenir? My CSI: Myrtle beach shirt! Runner's up: The three pins I bought at the Hard Rock and the deluxe edition of Sugarland's "Love on the Inside" CD.

The songs I'll alway associate with the trip?

Summertime by New Kids on the Block (I was glee-filled when I heard it while souvenir shopping, at the very store I bough my pink Myrtle Beach Baseball cap. I don't wear it much but I love it!)
Rock Star by Nickleback (while I was dining at the Hard Rock Cafe, how awesome is that?!)
Rocket Man (bought on one of those music to travel by CD's which I bought at the Bass Pro Shop there.

Wow I guess I felt like talking tonight :p .
