In addition to the mention of the character "Sanguini" in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince there's another vampire not mentioned in the book series but as a mention on the video game for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Although not the only vampire who made an appearance on a chocolate frog card in the game it was the one that piqued my interest the most.

Amarillo Lestoat
Lestoat
Amarillo Lestoat (1776-1977) was a flamboyant American vampire. He wrote a book, A Vampire's Monologue, which was intended to bore readers out of their minds and render them more easy to bite.

A Vampire's Monologue is a book that was written by the vampire Amarillo Lestoat. Although presumably disguised as an autobiography, the book's true intent was to bore readers senseless, and thus render them more easily bitten.

VC fans see any similarities between Amarillo and our dear beloved Lestat? *snickers*

Am I the only one who is on pins and needles while waiting for the next update of The Forsaken One on FF.N (Daniel/Vala? I really like the story and despite a few flaws I think that it's a a rather excellent fic. Gah! The waiting is torture! Hmm maybe I should read a little more of that SG-1 book (Relativity) I happened to find yesterday? It's not the book I would've chosen ("Siren Song" or "Survival of the Fittest" not a fan of the Roswell summary despite it having Cam and Vala so I'll skip that) but all the others were Atlantis books and I'm not a huge Atlantis fan! ...maybe if Daniel and/or Vala were to show...then maybe. (UGH! I just realized they had Blood Ties there and I didn't even THINK to read the summaries of the Atlantis books..bad bad BAD me. Next time I'm in that book store...it's MINE)

Is this toy really necessary? What are they trying to do teach kids how to text right out of the cradle? I know it just looks like a toy blackberry the thought of kids learning THAT soon to learn how to use one gives me the willies!

What happened to cool learning toys like the Speak and Spell and the VTek Computron (It was meant for younger kids but it helped me with my spelling just as much as my speak and spell. I credit both for great spelling sense (most of the time. the rest of the time it's an unfamiliar word, typo or something spell check didn't pick up) I picked up my love of reading , in oh...second grade (about the same time I fell in love with Ancient Egypt, via pictures of treasure from King Tut's tomb)

My parents were always buying me learning toys and suck. I had terrible eye/hand coordination and so along came a mini Ms. Pac-man game and then later Concentration (fit in all the pieces before the timer buzzes and throws up all your pieces!) (And over HALF the time I caught Mom and/or Dad taking over my Ms. Pac-Man! Gah! Parents!)

Ah, I miss the good old days sometimes. I miss my computron so much *heh*
