WooHoo! I won a Star Wars book!
Jun. 24th, 2006 08:15 pmA little while back I entered a contest thought the Del Rey/Star Wars site it was giving away a 100 copies of LotF: Betrayal. Seeing as I was basically broke at the time, I entered. Eventually the book came out at Wal-Mart, I'd nearly forgotten about the contest and so I looked longingly at the book vowing not to pick it up because if I did I'd have a hard time putting it back down (afraid of just zoning out in the store and just reading it there!) And so I went about my business. A little while later...today in fact, my mom was going out side to do some yardwork when she saw a yellow envelope on our front porch.
When she said it was for me I was confised, very confused as I'd not ordered anything, or perhaps a friend of mine mailed me something. When she handed it to me and felt the thickness of it, I imediatly knew what it was. Bit I thought it was impossible I NEVER win anything! Not since I was in third grade and won a He-Man action figure through a pack of BubbleYum bubble-gum (yes I am that old shut up ;p)!
Needless to say I quickly checked the return address, it was from "Del Rey"! Then with all speed I ripped open the envelope as quickl as I could and there it was....Betrayal I must have squeed, bouncing up and down and done victory dance for about an hour. But I',m getting ahead of myself. When I opened the book I noticed a yellow peice of paper (silently hoping it wasn't a bill)
This is what it said:
Congratulations! You are one of one-hundred readers randomly chosen to recieve a
finished copy of STAR WARS-LEGACY OF THE FORCE: BETRAYAL by Aaron Allston.
This is the era of Luke Skywalker's legacy: the Jedi Master has unified the order into a cohesive group of powerful Jedi Knights. Evil is rising again-out of the best intentions-and it looks as if the legacy of the Skywalkers may come full circle. Honor and duty will collide with friendship and blood ties as the Skywalker and Solo clans find themselves on opposing sides of an explosive conflict with potentially devastating repercussions for both families, for the Jedi order, and for the entire galaxy. Betrayal will prove to be the most engaging Star Wars title thus far.
Basically after that it requested, when I was finished reading Betrayal, to send a reviews or comments reguarding the book. I may or may not do this as it may be a while to get to this as I'm re-reading Harry Potter and the HBP at the moment.
But yeah, Still Squeeing!
