Since this is Mother's Day here are my thought on the most influential Mothers in there series.

This is nothing more than a summary/list of all account of how Mothers have affect the Magical World of Harry Potter at large. (

-Merope Gaunt: Mother of Tom Riddle. (Voldemort) died shortly after giving birth and naming her son thus Voldemort would never know a mother's love. Perhaps one of the main reasons Riddle became Voldemort. Had she raised him perhaps, he may have never turned out as badly as he did.

-Lily Potter: Mother of Harry. Died trying to save her son. If not for her sacrifice Voldemort would have never been ultimately stopped. Her sacrifice saved harry from death and in turn the Avada Kedavra spell that had been meant for Harry, instead, bounced off of him and reflected back onto Voldemort. Effectively ridding him of his body until Harry's Fourth year at Hogwarts. (although he briefly shared a body with Professor. Quirrel when =Harry was 11)

-Molly Weasley: Mother of Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron and Ginny. Whenever Harry comes to visit or the Summer and Christmas Holidays she treats him as if he were any other son. A fact that she once mention briefly just before Harry's Fifth year at Hogwarts. At the "Battle of Hogwarts" Molly took down Bellatrix LeStrange, who had almost hit Ginny with a Killing Curse, leaving Voldemort without his most faithful and loyal Death Eater.

-Narcissa Malfoy: Mother of Draco. After Voldemort had cast the Avada Kedavra yet again on Harry. It was Narcissa he had ordered to check to see if the "Boy-Who-Lived" was truly dead at last. When she had bent over harry in such a way she had covered his face with her hair and asked him, very softly if her son still lived. It was then obvious to Harry that she knew that he had lived. Risking his life yet again, he answered her so softly no one else was able to hear him. Once finding our that Draco still lived. She turned to Voldemort, telling him that Harry Potter was dead. With this news Voldemort had Hagrid carry back with what he thought was Harry's corpse into Hogwarts grounds. If not for her deception to the Dark Lord Harry would have never been able to enter the Castle to defeat Voldemort once and for all.
